I am Yahor. I own a BYD Han Flagship and I have been driving it in Europe for five years.
I bought the car new in China and brought it with me to Portugal, which turned out to matter far more than I expected: it is the reason a warranty claim was refused years later. Fifty thousand kilometres in, I still like how it drives.
Cars are my working background. I ran a large automotive website before this, which means I have sat through a great many launch presentations and have a reasonable sense of what they leave out.
Why this blog exists
Glossy brochures and advertising only ever tell you part of the story, and let us admit that exaggerating figures is not new in the car business. When I bought this car I had less information than I wanted, and most of what I now know came the expensive way.
So everything here is first hand. The range figures come from my own drives. The service stories come from my own invoices and my own photographs. Where I cannot prove something, the text says so rather than rounding it into a claim.
Nobody pays for any of this. No manufacturer has given me a car, there is no sponsorship and there are no affiliate links.

What a Chinese electric car is actually like to live with in Europe. Real motorway range next to the brochure figure, what fast charging means here rather than in China, and what happens when something small breaks and nobody at the service centre has seen the fault before.
